The Villa and its garden

The garden is not a frame around Villa Cipriani: it is part of its identity.

The house, built in the Palladian period and improved in the eighteenth century, acquired at the end of the nineteenth the Tuscan look it still has today. Inside, exposed beams, parquet, period furniture, local craftsmanship and the floral tiles of Vietri sul Mare keep the character of the house legible. Since 2012 restoration has followed a conservation approach, recovering what can go on living in the Villa.

Four seasons in the same garden

The garden changes through the year. Tulips arrive in spring; roses and jasmine in May; in September the scent of olea fragrans; in winter the colour of the persimmons remains one of the most recognisable sights in front of the terrace.

Historic Hotels Worldwide has placed the garden in its Top 10 Magnificent Gardens, and the American Horticultural Society has included it in the Garden of Excellence circuit since the mid-1990s.

From the Veranda and the terrace the greenery then gives way to the Asolo valley and the outline of Monte Grappa. It is the same direction faced by the panoramic infinity pool, named best Italian outdoor hotel pool at the Italian Pool Award 2014.

A garden to live in

In the summer months the garden becomes a place to stay as well: the pool, the sun loungers, the aperitif and the Bistrot Rosmarino make it possible to spend much of the day outdoors. In the cooler seasons what remains is the walk between the Villa, the terrace and the village of Asolo, within easy reach on foot.

There is no single best moment to see the garden: it depends on which of its seasons you wish to meet.
